The parking pavements are covered with colorful blocks that might look enticing to the sight but are blocking the natural percolation of water. This has led to the reduction of the ground water table in every region in and around. All societies in major cities are using this block as a part of the decoration. About ten years back we were using the Shahabad tiles in the parking areas that allowed the movement of water, leading to regular ground water percolation. It was comfortable and a beautiful sight, seeing the other open areas covered with native grass or shrubs. But now, everyone longs for a clean and mud-free environment around, thus breaking the law of nature and not allowing movement of water. The availability of the bore well water is now taken for granted, that in case of cut of water supply there must be a backup, but the fact is, that there is none.
